The photos i have decided to submit are pieces i have worked on in my A levels and more recent work that i have done during the foundation course i am currently on. These are some of my favourite pieces because of the bright bold colours, for example the lino print based on Barcelona. Whilst studying Barcelona i also focused on the structure of buildings and seeing how they can be put into clothes designs, whether its sleeves or shape of a dress. I have included sketchbook work showing me experimentation of different medias during a project based on heads and facial expressions. There is also a ink and stick life drawing piece, i really enjoyed working in this media because of the colour and shading techniques.
I love working with pattern and colour to create different swatches then working with my designs putting them into clothing outlines seeing what works and what doesn't. As part of my A level artwork i did a project based on shoe designs. During this project i made a few different shoes made out of different papers such as magazines and old music books. To add a little extra detail i added buttons and recycled pull tabs from cans. I enjoyed actually making the shoes, they were very delicate but i think they worked out quite well.
I am currently studying an Art and Design Foundation course, in the fashion textiles pathway, this is allowing me to learn new techniques to improve my work. I am interested in studying textile design for fashion because it is something i am truly passionate about. I would like to expand my ideas and advance my skills so i can thrive in my work during my time on the course.
